Camping at the Que

So as I mentioned last week, we went camping this past weekend at one of our favorite places!  We were planning on camping Friday through Sunday, but the weather was acting up on Saturday afternoon, so we cut it short.  We still had a great time though!

We spent Friday night grilling dinner over the fire, drinking home-brews, looking at the stars (and spotting a planet!), and just chatting the night away.  After a good night's sleep in our tent, we woke up Saturday to beautiful weather.  We cooked breakfast over the fire, made hot coffee with our french press, and just enjoyed the great view of the lake.  We went for a walk through the woods, napped in our tent, then went for a run.  The weather was gorgeous in the morning.  We floated around the lake on our rafts, enjoying the sunshine.  By the time we made our way back to our campsite in the early afternoon, the weather started to turn.  It got really dark really fast.  We were cooking lunch over the fire when it started thundering and raining.  So we decided to pack everything up and call it a day, instead of staying another night.  Which actually worked out nicely because we ended up heading into the town of Johnstown (where we went to college, met, had our first apartment together, fell in love, etc etc etc!) and had a nice little time reminiscing about the 5 years we spent living there.  All in all, a great weekend for sure!

Look at those storm clouds!
We left shortly after this...

Can't wait until our next camping adventure!

  3. Hello there Anna the cutest! Looks like a dreamy time actually! And I am definitely not a camper, think its my fear of mini ants and mosquitos, but that is besides the point. The fact that you had nail polish on in the photos makes me think I might be able to give it another shot...at some point...in the far far future! Love your smile and you and your husband look adorable together! Enjoy the sunshine! xox!

  7. It looks like a beautiful area for camping! Sounds like a great weekend.

My husband and I met in Columbia, MO, where we both went to college, and now we love to go back every couple years to reminice about the good old days. It's fun to look back, isn't it?
