"I'd Pick More Daisies..."

"If I had my life to live over, I'd try to make more mistakes next time.  I would relax.  I would limber up.  I'd be sillier than I have been on this trip.  I know of a very few things I would take seriously.  I would be less hygienic.  I would take more chances.  I would take more trips.  I would climb more mountains, swim more rivers, and watch more sunsets.  I would burn more gasoline and eat more ice cream and less beans.  I would have actual troubles and fewer imaginary ones.  You see, I'm one of those people who lives sensibly and sanely hour after hour, day after day.  Oh, I've had my moments, and if I had my life to live over, I'd have more of them.  In fact, I'd have nothing else.  Just moments.  Just moments, one after another, instead of living so many years ahead each day.  I've been one of those people who never goes anywhere without a thermometer, hot water bottle, rain coat, and parachute.  If I had my life to live over, I'd go places and do things and travel lighter than I have.  If I had my life to live over, I would start barefoot earlier in the spring and stay that way later in the fall.  I would play hooky more.  I wouldn't make such good grades, except by accident.  I'd ride more merry-go-rounds.  I'd pick more daisies.~Nadine Stair, age 85

I was in need of some perspective & inspiration this morning.
And this hit the spot.

It's the Weekend!

Happy Weekend!

I haven't had a chance to sort through my hundreds of photos from our Hilton Head Island vacation yet, but I'll leave you with one of my favorites.  Just our beach chairs, umbrella, and us.  We had the beach all to ourselves.  Pure bliss.  (And no, we did not stay in that enormous house haha)

Have a great weekend!*

PS - I updated my 365 Photo Blog with a few pictures from Hilton Head.
Feel free to hop on over & check them out! :)

And We're Back...

Home again, home again...

We're home from our wonderful week long vacation on Hilton Head Island.
How is it that time always seems to move so fast when you're on vacation?
We got back late last night and I'm fighting to keep my eyes open at work today.

But I just wanted to pop in and say hi real quick!

 After the suitcases are unpacked,
the mounds of laundry are done,
and the hundreds of photos are uploaded,
I will be back to share our trip with you guys!

I hope you all had an awesome week/weekend while I was away!*

June! And a Baby Deer!

Happy June!
I can't believe it's June already.  This year is flying by!

Can we just talk about this picture for a moment?!

Yesterday morning, there was an adult deer sitting in our yard as we were getting ready for work.  It was sitting sort of funny, but I didn't think anything of it and left for work.  On my way to work, I get a text from Brett (who leaves for work later than me) saying that the deer just had a baby!  Like BIRTHED a baby deer IN OUR BACKYARD.  Brett said it was covered in slime and was trying to stand up over and over again but just kept falling down in the process.  We have a fence around our yard, so Brett opened the gates before he left for work, in case the baby learned how to walk while we were gone and wanted to get out of our yard.

When we got home from work, the baby deer was still in our yard and was in the process of learning to walk (above photo)!  It was just walking/stumbling back and forth around our yard. It.was.the.cutest.thing.I.have.ever.seen!!! I think it was too scared to come down to the gate to get out, so Brett ended up scooping it up in a basket and putting it over on the other side of the fence.  And then it stumbled/ran straight to its mama!  It was AMAZING!

So that's my exciting story for the week.  It was just such a cool thing to witness.  I never would have thought I'd ever see something like that happen.  It was awesome.

Anywho, Happy June!!  Tomorrow at this time, Brett and I will be on our way to Hilton Head!!  I have been so so busy this week that I didn't have any time to schedule any posts for while I'm gone, so the blog is going to be a little quiet over the next week.  But I'll be back the following week!

So happy weekend and happy next week to you!
I'll catch ya Monday the 11th :)
