Lately... (Through the Eyes of My iPhone)

Ahh, I've got good vibes this morning.  No real particular reason, I'm just feeling content today.  Life is busy and crazy and exciting right now, so I'm taking a minute to breathe and appreciate today.  Sipping some hot green tea & looking through some photos on my phone.  Just documenting my every day life that I am so grateful for...

Rehoboth Beach Vacation 2011 Movie

Good morning!

How are we doing today?  I hope you guys had a nice weekend.  Mine was pretty low key: tried a new Italian restaurant, morning errands, pizza BYOBs, fireworks, house hunting, and yummy weekend breakfasts.  It was a much needed relaxing weekend.

So now that all of my planned beach trips are over (sad face), I thought I'd show you a little movie I put together of my family's vacation in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Enjoy!

I miss the beach and I miss being on vacation...  Isn't that always the case, though?  Sigh...  On another note, I have so much fun making these little movies! If only I could turn this into my full-time job.  Wishful thinking...  Well, on with the day!*

SUMMER.

I heart summer.
That is all.

Making sure I appreciate every little ounce of Summer while it lasts
because I know it will be gone all too soon.

Climbing and Camping at Coopers Rock

This past weekend, Brett and I headed down to Coopers Rock, WV for a fun-filled weekend of rock climbing and camping!  We are slowly becoming borderline obsessed with climbing.  It is such a fun outdoor activity.  And I especially love that Brett and I have something really active that we do together as a team.  Brett and I are really active people to begin with, but climbing is on a whole other level.  Basically, it's awesome and we're obsessed.

We left bright and early Saturday morning and stayed until Sunday afternoon, staying at the campground in the state park.  We also headed into town Saturday night for dinner at Black Bear Burrito and drinks at Morgantown Brewing Company.  Morgantown is a fun little town!

Onto some pictures...

So much fun.  We can't wait to get back down there.  Luckily, Coopers Rock is only about an hour south of our house, so I have a feeling we'll be back many, many more times this Summer!  Those burritos from Black Bear Burrito alone will lure me back... ;)

Oops on posting my weekend recap post half way through the week...  Life is busy, busy!  Tonight, we are going to see OAR play downtown.  We used to listen to them all the time in college, especially when the weather finally warmed up (a rare occasion in Johnstown...).  We are meeting some college friends there, so it should be a good time!  It's an outdoor concert and it's currently 95 degrees outside, so yeeeeeah....  HOWEVER!  I am NOT complaining because I would take 95 degree heat over 5 degree cold ANY day.

What are you guys up to?!

Quick Hello

Hi guys!  How are you?  Life has been busy, busy lately (in a good way!) and I haven't had time to blog the past couple days.  So I just wanted to pop in real quick and say hi!  And I hope to be back tomorrow with a full recap of our weekend spent outside climbing and camping!

Happy Birthday Babe!

Happy 27th birthday to my hubby, Brett!!

I'll spare you all the gushy, lovey dovey post
outlining why he's the best babe ever
and just tell you that my hubby is SWELL!

He's the apple of my eye
and I love him times a million.

Babe, you're the best and I love you.
And for the record, I consider 27 to still be "mid-20s"!
Can't wait to celebrate your birthday (for the 3rd time) tonight!
:)

Edinboro Lake

I don't know about you, but I am obsessed with any body of water that's bigger than a bath tub.  Something about a large body of water just gets me.  Makes me so so happy.  Whether it's an ocean, a lake, or just a little pond.  I love water.

We spent the weekend at Edinboro Lake with Brett's family.  They rent a cottage there every Summer for a week, right on the water.  It's so relaxing.  Being able to sit on the porch & see the lake glistening right there in the sun makes me so happy.

We woke up super early on Saturday and headed out for a morning of rock climbing at McConnells Mills before meeting Brett's family at the cottage.  I didn't take any pictures while rock climbing (it's kinda hard to juggle a camera AND a rope that is holding your partner in the air...), but this place was very cool.  After a solid 5 hours of climbing, we headed up to Edinboro Lake where we water skiied, played with our nephews, ate Uncle Charlie's pizza, and simply relaxed.  It was blissful.

Oh, and we celebrated Brett's 27th birthday, which is this Thursday!  :)  What did you guys do this past weekend?  Why do weekends have to be so short and go so fast?  All in favor of a 5 day weekend and 2 day work week, say I!!!

Family + Beach = Best Combination

First, HAPPY FRIDAY!*

Continuing on with my Rehoboth Beach posts, it's time for some family action.
No beach vacation is complete without good company...
and with my family, that means a house full of it!

Take me back...
Delicious turkey burger at Dogfish Head Brewpub (fave brewery ever!)
Brett, Jess, and Lee biking along Silver Lake
Jess & I at the beach house
Mom, Me, and Jess in the backyard
Walking along the boardwalk, heading to dinner at Obie's
Jess, Me, Brita, and Alina
Lee, Me, Brett, and Nate in our football stances... (don't even ask)
Grottos Pizza = Best. Margarita.Pizza.EVER.
We like bikes!
Dad biking along a trail
The whole gang!  Nate, Brett, Jess, Lee, Brita, Alexine, Mom, Aunt Torg, Dad, and Me (Graham & Alina missing b/c Alina was sick :( )
True words
Waiting for fireworks on the beach!
Happy Fourth of July!
Cruiser bikes as our only form of transportation, eating mass amounts of watermelon & golden oreos, sleeping in sandy beds, living off bud light lime, morning strolls to get iced coffee, dinner with an ocean view at Obie's by the Sea, hilarious night football on the beach, $3 margaritas and chips & salsa during karaoke at Dos Locos, watching Lee & Brett attempt to bike home after said margaritas, going on runs through the beautiful neighborhood admiring the gorgeous homes we'll one day live in, eating burnt veggie burgers for lunch that we forgot about in the oven while having too much fun doing something else, relaxing on the warm sandy beach under the hot sun while listening to the waves crashing on the shore, heated cornhole games in the backyard of the beach house, completely finishing 4 large Grottos Pizzas & loving every bite, sipping on some specialty brews at Dogfish Head Brewpub, jamaican rum punch at Zogg's Bar & Grill, gigantic family posse bike rides along the trails, mid-day beers & delicious turkey burgers at Dogfish, floating in the ocean for hours to beat the hotness of the sun, grilling veggie burgers, hot dogs, zucchini, & bruschetta on the Fourth of July, serious beer taste testing, watching fireworks sitting in the sand on the beach, card and dices games on the front porch that lasted into the wee hours of the morning, wandering up & down Rehoboth Ave browsing the unique shops, amazing beach fro-yo for lunch, and just enjoying the fact that we were all together under one roof (a rare occurrence) as one big happy family.

Even though we weren't able to spend the whole week at the beach with my family, we still had a blast for the time that we were there.   I love Rehoboth.  Can we go back now?!  Just say the words and I'm there!

PS - My attempt to get my family to VLOG was a FAIL.  Haha  Just not enough time to reel them all in.  Next time... ;)  BUT I am putting together a short little fun film from our beach vacation, so stay tuned for that!
