Hilton Head Island Dolphin Watch Cruise

(Finally coming to an end of my Hilton Head Island vacation recaps!)

Before we went on our Hilton Head vacation, we purchased a Groupon for half off dolphin cruise tickets.  And leave it to us to wait until the end of the week to use them...  So, on our last full day in Hilton Head, we finally cashed those puppies in!  We headed over to the marina where the boat was docked in the late morning for a 2 hour fun-filled cruise around the harbor.  The "Captain" cruised us by a ton of amazingly huge houses, cool marshes, and the Harbour Town Lighthouse, while informing us of little random facts here and there along the way.  We ended up seeing only 2 dolphins, which was kind of a letdown seeing as how it's called the "DOLPHIN cruise".  But that's okay... I still got giddy (just like all the small children on the boat...) whenever we did see one swim by.  It was a fun way to get out on the water and see the sights from a different perspective.

Coco's on the Beach (& other delicious treats)

That's where!

Coco's on the Beach is basically the best beach bar I have ever ever been to.  And it was dangerously close to where we were staying for the week in Hilton Head.  Our villa was right on the other side of that boardwalk.  Dangerous.  We probably went to Coco's at least 5 times during our week long vacation.  Not ashamed.  It is amazing.

How can you say no to drinking at noon when there's Bob Marley blasting over the speakers, refreshing cold beers & fruity concoctions to drink, and the most beautiful view of the ocean?  Try and say no!  You can't!

When we were able to pull ourselves away from Coco's, we made sure to devour tons of other tastiness on the island throughout the week.  There was froyo, fresh caught fish, amazing sangria, delish margaritas, and lots & lots of Mellow Mushroom pizza. 

Ok, now I'm hungry.

After venturing around Savannah for a while, we finally made our way over to Hilton Head, where we spent a relaxing, blissful beachy week on the island.  We stayed in an ocean view villa that was only a short walk to the beach.  And the view from our balcony was great!

The weather at the beginning of the week was kind of funky.  It would rain off and on every day, with the sun peaking out of the clouds every once in a while.  But towards the end of the week, it brightened up and we had great sunny beach weather!  Of course, which made it really hard to leave...

We also caught quite a few gorgeous sunsets along the bay side of the island during the week.  Every night when we went out to dinner, we'd be welcomed with these amazing skies.  You cannot beat a good sunset!

This vacation was the ultimate relaxation getaway.  Most of our days consisted of:  Morning runs on the sand, breakfasts on the balcony, relaxing & reading on the beach (I finished almost all 3 books of the Hunger Games series on this vacation!), drinking beers & fruity drinks at Coco's (separate post coming for this amazing beach bar!), biking all over the island, indulging in amazing food at all the awesome restaurants, and just spending time in each other's good company.  I could definitely use more relaxing getaways like this on a regular basis... ;)

It's the Weekend!

I haven't had a chance to sort through my hundreds of photos from our Hilton Head Island vacation yet, but I'll leave you with one of my favorites.  Just our beach chairs, umbrella, and us.  We had the beach all to ourselves.  Pure bliss.  (And no, we did not stay in that enormous house haha)

Home again, home again...

We're home from our wonderful week long vacation on Hilton Head Island.

How is it that time always seems to move so fast when you're on vacation?

We got back late last night and I'm fighting to keep my eyes open at work today.

But I just wanted to pop in and say hi real quick!

 After the suitcases are unpacked,

the mounds of laundry are done,

and the hundreds of photos are uploaded,

I will be back to share our trip with you guys!

Hilton Head Island, Here We Come!

It's official!

The villa is booked, the dates are set, and the countdown is on.

We're going to Hilton Head Island!

Brett and I have been vacationing at Hilton Head Island every year since 2008.  It is literally one of our favorite places in the world.  The laid-back island attitude is addicting and just keeps us coming back again and again.  We were originally planning on going down in September, but everything kind of just fell into place for us to go at the beginning of June, so we're going!  In 9 days!  For a whole week!  I can't wait!

Now, we just need to get through 5 1/2 more days of work...

then it's beach time, baby!
