Here We Go Again...

It's moving weekend!!!  Finally, after living in a rental house for 6 months, we are moving back into our HOME!  We have the final walk through with our tenants on Saturday and then we're renting a truck on Sunday to start the process!  I seriously cannot WAIT!

Have a great weekend, everyone!!*

And if you don't hear from me, I'm probably buried under a pile of boxes....

Scenes from the Weekend

Brett surprised me with the most beautiful flowers on Friday night!!

Spent Saturday doing some shopping, then hanging at my parent's house
helping my sister with some of her Etsy stuff!

Sunday bike ride with the fam

What a gorgeous day!

We had to make a stop at Peace, Love, and Little Donuts for a mid-bike treat :)

And finished the weekend with dinner at my parent's house outside on their deck
and a walk around the neighborhood with my mom

Brett had to go out of town on Saturday for work, so I was flying solo most of the weekend.  Even though I missed him dearly, I made the most of the weekend with my family!  And now I'm just counting down the days until next weekend!

PS -- Happy birthday to my brother, Lee!!

My Sister, the Starbucks Designer

Happy Friday!!*
And it is a very happy Friday indeed!!!
For so many great reasons!!!

One of those reasons is some great news about my little sister.  A few months ago, Starbucks started a design competition called the White Cup Contest.  The contest encouraged artists to take their own designs and transform them onto Starbucks famous white cups.  When I first saw the contest announcement, I immediately told my little sister Brita about it.  She is an amazing artist and I knew this would be perfect for her.

Well, a few months and over 4,000 entries later... Starbucks has picked their winner.  And it is my SISTER!!  Check out the amazing article Starbucks wrote about her:  "Starbucks Announces the Winner of its White Cup Contest".  As the winner, Brita's winning design will be used for a limited edition Starbucks reusable cup to be sold in Starbucks' store!!  How amazing!  I truly could not be more proud and excited for her.  She deserves this times a million.

Congrats Brita!
This is only the beginning... :)

Oh and PS - I helped her set up an Etsy shop
so she can finally start selling her amazing work.
Please check it out!! -->  Designs By BLynn

Five Things Friday

{farmers market flowers}

5 random ramblings for your friday...

1.  I'm weirdly excited about dinner tonight...
we are planning on grilling up some shish kabobs on the grill!

2.  The number of torrential downpours we've had here in Pittsburgh this week is insane...
but I think the weekend is going to actually be beautiful, so I'll take it!

3.  I cannot believe it is already half way through JUNE...
this year is flyyyying.

4.  Only a few more weeks until we get to move back into our HOUSE!!!
I seriously can't wait.  I am getting so sick of living in this rental house...

5.  There are still a few days left of Three Rivers Arts Festival!
So far we've been down 3 times and are planning on going down tomorrow
(and hopefully meeting up with my bestie Jamie!)

Good weekend vibes ahead, friends!
Enjoy!*

Three Rivers Arts Festival

Hooray, it's here!

Today, the annual Three Rivers Arts Festival kicks off in Pittsburgh and I'm so excited!  This awesome outdoor festival runs for 10 straight days with free (amazing!) music, art, and fun downtown!  We've been going to the arts fest for years now, but weren't able to last year since we were living in California at the time.  So this year, I am extra excited to get back down there!  Plus, tomorrow is Bluegrass Day and the weather is looking perfect!!  Let the weekend begin!*

Slomo!

Inspiration for your Thursday...

Ever since Brett showed me this video a few weeks ago, I can't stop thinking about it.  The inspiration I get from "Slomo" and his story is literally off the charts.  What an amazing perspective!  It makes me really think about how I'm living my life and what kind of changes I could make to live my life even better than how I am right now.  I am all for continuous life improvement.  I mainly think of my career/work when things like this pop up.  This video challenges me to take a step back and look at my life in a different light and make sure I'm truly "doing what I want to."  Am I really doing something I am passionate about?  And if I'm not, it is okay to change, even if it doesn't match society's standards.  It's not too late to reinvent myself.  I mean, what a breath of fresh air.  We don't all have to do the same thing and do what is expected of us!  One way is not the right way!  Live the life you want to!

I hope this brings as much inspiration and insight to you as it did for me.
Now, go be awesome and...
"Do what you want to!"
