Blue Ridge Mountains -- Breweries!

My other favorite thing about the Blue Ridge Mountains area (besides the great hiking) is the plethora of amazing breweries.  I don't know what it is, but something about this area just churns out amazing beer!  And we were definitely sure to take advantage of this with multiple brewery visits throughout vacation!

There is just something so perfect about watching a gorgeous sunset with good friends and good beer.  Cheers to an amazing vacation!  Brett and I are already starting to brainstorm our next... ;)

Mountain Getaway - Breweries

Continuing on with my little recap of our mountain getaway...

When we weren't out hiking and biking and enjoying nature, we were hitting up every single brewery within a 20 mile radius of our cabin.  The Blue Ridge Mountains are surrounded by some of the most amazing breweries we have ever been to.  Our vacation was only 4 days long and somehow we ended up going to 4 breweries.  Coincidence?  I think not.  We may have even went to some of these breweries more than once because we are kind of obsessed...

Umm, can you tell we really like beer??

Blue Mountain Brewery

So, life has been super busy since we got back from our mini getaway at Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia.  I am just now finally finding a little bit of time to blog.  Our little road trip was exactly what we needed: fun, adventurous, and relaxing.  We were only gone for four days, but those four days were pure bliss.

On our drive down to Virginia, we came dangerously close to a brewery that Brett has been wanting to check out forever.  So needless to say, we detoured about 10 miles and made our way to Blue Mountain Brewery for some brews and dinner.  Um... this place is awesome.  The brewery is nestled literally in the middle of the most beautiful mountain range views and rolling country acres.  Not to mention, they have a hop farm right in front of the brewery.  Amazing.  You really can't beat the view... sitting out on the patio, drinking your brews, and eating some delicious grub (which is all made from local ingredients!).

We may have liked it so much that we ended up going there again for dinner on our way home from our trip...  Can you blame us?!

Blue Mountain Brewery, we will be back!
