Happy Thanksgiving!

{via}

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I hope you are all enjoying this nice long holiday weekend with family and friends!  Last year we were living in California and couldn't spend the holidays with our families.  So this year, we are extra thankful to be back on the east coast to partake in all the fun festivities with everyone!

Cheers to togetherness!*

New Cars & Jogger Strollers

...scenes from the weekend...

Friday night pizza & game night!
(we're kind of obsessed with 'Ticket to Ride'...)

On Saturday, we sold Brett's Honda civic!
It was sad to see it go - lots of great memories with this car!

But it was on to bigger and newer things!
We bought a 2015 Subaru Forester!

And the sales guy even gave us a cute bear for the little babe :)

There she is!  We're in love with it already!
Pictured outside of Babies R Us on Sunday haha ;)

Where we finally started our registry!
Testing out baby stuff with an engineer is a hilarious event -
everything gets the full run down, including running through the aisles with the jogger strollers :)

And then we made our way over to my parent's house for Sunday night dinner!

What a great and productive weekend!
And happy 3 day workweek!
Bring on the turkey!*

Airplanes, Virgin Mojitos, & Obsessive Game Playing

Wow, it's already Thursday!  This week is flying by and I have no complaints about that.  Just wanted to pop in to share some pictures from our visit to Lee & Jess's (bro & sis-in-law) in Maryland last weekend.  We made it a three day weekend and had a blast!

On Friday, while Lee & Jess were working, Brett and I visited the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum.  This museum is out in Virginia near the Washington, DC airport.  This one is muuuch bigger than the Air and Space Museum in downtown DC and super cool!  It has an observatory tower that you can go up and watch planes coming into the airport next door.  It also is home to the Space Shuttle Discovery, which is gigantic and awesome!  We had a great time exploring this museum!

(25 weeks!  Starting to feel huge... haha)

After spending some time at the museum, we stopped at Lost Rhino Brewing Company for some beverages.  While I wish I could have been drinking beer, their house made root beer was pretty delicious!  We also ate some tasty nachos before heading back to Lee & Jess's for a fun game night!

On Saturday, the four of us made our way down to downtown DC for some exploring!  We checked out one museum, including a cool installment all about the American flag, and wandered around the National Mall a bit.  It was pretty chilly but at least the sun was shining!

And then we headed over to Chinatown for a deliiiicious Thai lunch,
including mojitos (virgin for me...)!

Saturday night consisted of more games!  We kind of became obsessed with a few games throughout the course of the weekend: Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, and Mario Party on Wii.  We are nerds, but had so much fun! Haha

And on Sunday, we said our goodbyes and made our way home.
Thanks for having us, Lee and Jess!
(Can't wait to see you guys at Thanksgiving!)

What a great little mini getaway!*

Live Music, Family Game Night, & Mojito Mocktails

...scenes from the weekend...

Gov't Mule concert at Stage AE on Friday night (after a delish dinner at Shiloh Grill)!

Celebrating Jess's birthday and family game night at my parent's house on Saturday!

Sunday morning pumpkin spice pancakes, per Brett's request :)

A chilly and brisk walk on the trail

Homemade pizza night!
(Brett made me a mojito mocktail & it was so delicious!)

I love weekends!  And now, this week is only a 4 day work week for Brett and I because we are heading down to Maryland to visit Lee & Jess this coming weekend!  Woohoo, fun times ahead!

Happy (?) Monday, everyone!*

A Very Homemade Weekend

...scenes from the weekend...

Passing out candy to the trick or treaters, followed by dinner at Cucina Bella!

Lots of baby researching & browsing, along with a late night stop at Mad Mex

Sunday screen printing!
(I'm pretty happy with how these little onesies turned out, seeing as how it was my first attempt!)

We made homemade mozzarella cheese!
(It was definitely a lot of work, but pretty awesome that it actually turned out okay!)

And then we made homemade pizza using the mozzarella!

And that, my friends, was a very hands-on homemade weekend!
Happy November!*
