Elijah is 3!

Well, we have a THREE year old!  Elijah's birthday was last Thursday and we've been celebrating all weekend!  We had a blast surprising him in the morning with decorations and gifts, then played all morning long with his new toys.  We spent the afternoon at Chuck E Cheese (which was hilarious - haven't been there in probably over 20 years!) and Elijah had so much fun - he loves games!  We finished the day with ice cream and candles and singing happy birthday at home!

On Saturday, we had Elijah's birthday party with family and friends - 'Cars' themed!  Elijah loves the Cars movies (and all types of cars really...) and had so much fun with everyone.  (Check out the amazing cake my mom made!)  It was such a great day - Elijah is so loved!

Now excuse me while I go cry myself to sleep because I can't believe my baby is THREE!

Life Lately!

Oh hey!  Long time no talk - oops!  Life has been craaazy busy (and FUN!) and I haven't had a chance to sit down and blog.  We've been doing a TON of fun summer stuff and it's so exciting to experience it all with Elijah - he is having an awesome summer (we would know - he told us himself!)  So here's a little peak at what we've been up to lately... enjoy! :)

Brett's Birthday!
We surprised him with donuts & spent the day at the pool :)

Hiking!
Followed by games & dinner at Mad Mex - so fun!

Running around downtown!
And getting delicious Jamba Juice smoothies afterwards

Mini golf!
Omg, this was Elijah's first time playing and it was HILARIOUS!  He loved it!

Froyo!
There's no such thing as too much froyo :)

Elijah's first pets!
We got him 3 goldfish & he named them: mommy, daddy, and baby (heart melting!)

Summer cooking!
Fresh veggies, plus homegrown basil and oregano - yum!

Oh, I love this life with my people :)
Cheers to more summer fun!*

Eli loved it!  (minus all the loud sirens and horns)

Biking downtown and playing in all the spalsh pads!
(and then visiting my sister's arts fest)

My niece, Pari Joon's 2nd birthday party!

Here's to another fun weekend on the horizon - Brett's birthday weekend!

My 29th Birthday!*

Cheers to 29!*

Last year on my birthday, Brett and I celebrated in Santa Fe, NM on our cross-country trip to California.  It's pretty crazy to think about all that has happened in our lives since my last birthday.  What a whirlwind it has been!  And I wouldn't have it any other way. :)

I had such a great birthday this year too...
I think I've had a goofy grin on my face all week!

Kicked off the day with a free iced coffee the size of my head!

Came home after work to a decorated house courtesy of my awesome mom!

So many birthday balloons :)

Brett and I went for a bike ride along the trail
and of course stopped for froyo on our way back!

And when we got back, we noticed tiny baby bunnies that had just been born in our backyard!
(What is with animals giving birth in our backyard?!)

After dinner (at Mad Mex!), Brett gave me the best birthday gift...
screen printing supplies!
I seriously cannot wait to dive into this!

And on Tuesday, the birthday celebrations continued
at my parent's house with dinner and ice cream cake!

Feeling really loved this week - ah, life is good!
I'd say the last year of my 20s is off to a pretty great start! :)

Scenes from the Weekend -- Birthday Edition!

Today is my 29th birthday!*
And we've been celebrating all weekend long... ;)

Kickin the weekend off right with donuts from Bethel Bakery

Spent Saturday hiking around Coopers Rock - so greeen!

And Brett played on some rocks along the way :)

The Henry Clay Iron Furnace which was built in the 1800s!

Dinner and beers at Mountain State Brewing Co before heading back to Pittsburgh

Sunday was spent kayaking on the lake at Moraine State Park!

So much fun!!

And ending the weekend with dinner and beers at North Country Brewing Co (with the Hehers)!

What a great weekend!!  Brett and I were originally planning on going away somewhere for the weekend but then decided to find fun nearby instead.  And we did!  We weren't really sure what we were going to do all weekend and all of these last minute plans ended up being so much fun!  What a great way to kick off my birthday!  Cheers!*
