Fill in the Blank Friday

 

1.   I am looking forward to   vacationing in Hilton Head with my hubby in a couple weeks!!!

2.  Something kind of embarrassing that I still love anyway is   ‘The Hills’.  And I can’t wait until Lauren Conrad’s new reality show… Embarrassing, I know.

3.  My favorite car is   my Honda Fit!  Loooooooooove it!

4.  If I could pick one type of weather to live with for the rest of my life it would be   SUNNY and upper 70’s with noooo humidity!

5.  My favorite thing to do after a bad/stressful day is   workout.  It is SUCH a stress reliever.  I always feel way better when I’m done with my workout.

 
6.  This weekend   is a girls weekend: Jess’s bachelorette party on Saturday and going to a play on Sunday with the girls in my family.

7.  If I were a color, I'd be   yellow    because   it’s sunny and happy and positive!

1.   Fridays are   GREAT!  But not as good as Saturdays! 

2.    My husband, coffee, and road trips   make me terribly happy.

3.  Something that inspires me is   seeing people take risks to do what they love… and succeeding.

4.  If I had the day off today I would   hang out with Brett all day because he gets the day off!

5.  If I had to put a label on my home decor style, I would say my style is   earthy, relaxing, and OURS.  All of our décor has a special meaning to us.  We don’t just by wall art or home décor from places like Target.  We like to find unique things that have a story and that we know no one else will have hanging on their walls.   

6.  Concerning politics I would say I'm   not interested.  They all suck.

7.  I'd like to go to   Costa Rica    so I could   go hiking in the rain forest and zip-lining along side monkeys!!

1.   My favorite daily responsibility is   showering??  Well, I can’t say that’s always a daaaaily thing. ;)  But it’s so refreshing and relaxing to me!

2.  My least favorite daily responsibility is   DISHES!

3.  My favorite cuisine to eat when going out is   Thai.  Yummmmm!

4.  My favorite cuisine to prepare at home is   homemade pizza.  It’s such a fun dinner to make together as a couple!

5.  Andy Warhol said that everyone is famous for 15 minutes. My claim to fame is   probably being in Hanson’s “Take the Walk” book on numerous occasions…

 
6.  If I could have 3 wishes I would wish   for eternal happiness, a healthy family, and a money tree in my backyard. ;)

7.  My biggest pet peeve is   people who write CHECKS to pay for something… it’s 2011!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!

I am so ridiculously tired today.  I only got about 3 hours of sleep last night.  We went out to Rock Bottom Brewery with my brother Lee & soon-to-be sister-in-law Jess last night and didn't get home until 1:30am!  But it was fun, so it was worth it. :)  I just need to get through the work day, then a NAP is calling my name...

1.   Something that makes me a great friend is   that I’m a good listener.  Sometimes you just gotta let it all out and have someone there to just sit and listen.  I like to think I’m good at that.  And then if they want advice, I’m there for them.

2.  I am   a wife, daughter, sister, friend, coffee addict, lover of all things outdoors, dreamer of crazy ideas, blogger, tweeter, traveler, and explorer.

3.  I am not   a fan of mean people!

4.  If I had to describe myself in 3 words, they would be   positive, creative, crazy.  ;)

5.  Something I'm really cheap about is   clothing.  I cannot bring myself to pay more than $25 for a pair of jean.  Target is the best thing that ever happened to my closet. 

 
6.  Something I'm willing to splurge on is   not necessarily a “thing”, but more so anything that creates a great lasting memory: a great vacation, a nice dinner out, fancy cheeses for a romantic at-home dinner, etc.

7.  I would trade   this craptastic rainy/snowy/windy weather   for   SUMMER SUNSHINE HAPPY WEATHER   in a heartbeat.

1.   My most prized possession is  my photos.  Pretty much all the photos I have ever taken… I don’t know what I would do if I ever lost them.  I try to backup my computer as much as possible, so I always have my photos in multiple places.  You can never replace those memories. 

2.  If I could be one age for the rest of my life, I would want to be  definitely somewhere in my 20’s.  So much great stuff has happened to me in my 20’s.  I like this place in my life… not too old, not too young; making a life for myself, but still having so much fun.  But then again, I think I’ll always be having this much fun no matter how old I get…

3.  The best way to spend a weekend is  going on a mini road trip somewhere fun with the people you love!

4.  My outlook on life is  based around the idea that you can choose what you want your life to be.  You can choose each day whether you are going to be positive or negative.  I choose to be positive everyday.  While it’s difficult sometimes, you always have to remember that “Nothing is worth more than this day.”  You can’t predict the future, so you better enjoy each moment!

5.  If you want to annoy me, just  cut me off while you’re on your cell phone… seriously!

6.  I am completely defenseless when it comes to  PIZZA!!  Or being asked to go on a road trip… I will always say yes!

7.  When dressing for the day one should  wear whatever the hell you want.  Who cares about trends.  Just wear what makes you happy and confident!

Hooray, it's FRIDAY!

And I have today off work!!

I work at a college and the students are on spring break this week,

so they give staff "spring break" just on Friday.

Better than nothing!

Here we go...

1.   My biggest accomplishment in life thus far is… definitely running & finishing a marathon last May (in the pouring rain…).

2.  My favorite place to sit in my house is… our dining room/living room.  We have an open floor plan, so our living room & dining room are kind of one.  I like to sit at the dining room table, working on my laptop… or nestled up on the couch with Brett.

3.  My fashion philosophy is… I have zero fashion sense.  I never know what “trends” are in or what everyone else is wearing. I just wear what I like and what’s comfy.  I have a lot of solid color clothing that I like to wear loud accessories with.  Does that count?  Ha!

4.  Something every girl should have is… a group of people (family, friends, husband, boyfriend) who truly believe in her and love her exactly the way she is; people that support her and are always on her side.  It seems that girls tend to need that extra reassurance.

5.  If you looked in my purse right now you'd find…  way too much stuff!  Daily planner, mini notebook, wallet, iPhone, coffee cozy, lip gloss, gum, camera, chargers for my camera and iPhone, checkbooks, gloves, pens, birth control… haha.

6.  My favorite music right now is… The Bridge.  So fun!  Check them out!

7.  My favorite part of my body is… my calves?  Haha, they are just very defined and I like them.

I love 'Fill in the Blank Fridays' because it means that the weekend is near!

1.   The phrase or punctuation I overuse most is   exclamation points… if you haven’t noticed!!!!!  I guess I am just really excited about life!

2.  Today I am thankful for   Caribou Coffee & their adorable cups.

3.  My best friend is   my husband Brett, which is ideal because we get to hang out all the time!

4.  A quirky thing about me is   I do not like having the top sheet tucked in at the end of the bed.  My feet feel like they are suffocating!  Brett makes fun of me soo bad for this.

5.  This weekend I   have no set plans and it is marvelous!!  It’s supposed to get to 60 degrees on Saturday (!!) but it’s also supposed to rain… so I’m hoping it clears up for a bit so we can get outside!

6.  Something that worries me is   the house buying process.  I just want to find the perfect place to call home & not have to stress out too much about it!

7.  On my night stand you would find   an alarm clock (that we never use because we both use the alarms on our iPhones) and a piece of art that my little sister made us for our wedding.  Also, usually Brett’s glasses and iPhone are on there too.  (We only have a night stand on one side of our bed).

Fill in the Blank Friday

 

1.   I am currently obsessed with owls and all things feathers.  Oh, and sparkly nail polish annnnd my husband.

2.  Today I am happy because, it’s FRIDAY (!) and it’s raining, instead of snowing (I’ll take anything other than snow at this point).

3.  The age I am is 25 and the age I feel is definitely dependent on the day.  Sometimes I feel like an 80 year old Grandma when I get tired at 9pm and my back hurts… And sometimes I feel like a 10 year old when I dance through the aisles of the grocery store…. And sometimes I feel exactly 25 when I realize that I am married and pay bills and have a grown-up job and responsibilities but still go out to the bar often. :)

4.  My favorite place is multiple places… does that count?!  This is a super hard question.  It can go a number of ways: my home, Hilton Head Island, Rehoboth Beach, ooor any pizza place at 2am…. 

5.  Something I have been procrastinating is finally changing my last name on everything.  Since I got married, I’ve changed the important stuff like my driver’s license, social security, etc… but there are a lot of things that still need changed like credit cards, etc.  It’s just such a pain!

6.  The last thing I purchased was coffee & a bagel from Get Go this morning.

7.  The thing I love most about my home is   our own personal touches.  We don’t have any generic décor or art that we just went to the store and picked up.  All of our décor and little things in our home have a story behind them, and I think it really shows people our personality when they walk in our house.  I love it. :)

Looks like it's that time again!

FRIDAY!!

1.   I am so happy it’s FRIDAY and so happy that I sold my old car last night!

2.  The bravest thing I've ever done was  umm, does walking through the ghetto at night count?  We used to do that a lot when we lived in the city… especially if we were on a hunt for pizza.

3.  I feel prettiest when I just get back from a day at the beach and I have that sunny, sweaty glow.

4.  Something that keeps me awake at night is thinking about all the things I need to do.  Oh, who am I kidding?  As soon as I hit that pillow, I am OUT.

5.  My favorite meal in the entire world is that is a REALLY hard question because I love food.  I’m going to say… Max Mex Happy Hippie Burrito!  YUM!  But there are so many other meals that are my favorite too!! ;)

6.  The way to my heart is through laughter annnnnd bringing me coffee.  That works too. :)

7.  I would like to go to COSTA RICA before we have children!

1.   The TV show/website that I watch/read that I would be embarrassed to tell anyone about is hmm, I’m not really embarrassed about anything I watch or read on TV or online!  We don't have cable TV but if we did, I'm sure I would get sucked into the crappy reality shows.

2.  An item of clothing that is worn and torn but that I love far too much to throw away is the pair of jeans that I was wearing the first time I met Hanson in 2003… ha!  They are completely torn and frayed and not even wearable, but I can’t bring myself to throw them out.

3.  My grocery store impulse buy is nice cheese.  We are always leaving the grocery store with some kind of nice cheese, justifying that it will just go so perfectly with the current bottle of wine we have.

4.  Something I do at work to pass time that I wouldn't want my co-workers to know about is write blog posts… haha.

5.  One thing in my life that I could give up, but never will is coffee! (Except for when I’m pregnant)  I love it!

6.  A little indulgence that I have is fancy lattes.  I don’t get them often, because I love our home brewed Trader Joe’s coffee… but every once in a while on special occasions, I indulge.

7.  The junk drawer/area in my house is the closet in our upstairs hallway and the attic.  Junk gets thrown in the closet until it eventually makes its way up to the attic…

1.   If my house was on fire and I could only grab 3 things I would grab (obviously Brett but I’m not counting him as one of my things and I don’t think I could pick him up…) my MacBook (that has all my pictures & music on it), my iPhone, and my “memories” box of random things I’ve saved over the years from Brett and my relationship.

2.  A smell I really like is my homemade chocolate chip cookies baking in the oven.  YUM.

3.  Something you might not know about me is I used to spend my summers on tour on the road going city to city following around my favorite band Hanson.

4.  Some of my favorite websites to putter about on are Etsy, We Heart It, Twitter, and does my google reader count??

5.  This weekend I will be rock climbing, going to IKEA (!!), possibly going to see live music, and working on some iMovie projects!

6. Nothing makes me happier than getting in the car with a fresh cup of coffee and heading out on a roadtrip with Brett.  True BLISS.

7.  A bad habit I have is not cleaning out the fridge on garbage day…

3. The first time I felt like a "grown up" was in my first apartment when I paid my first utility bill. BOO!

4. Weekends are for sleeping in, having morning coffee with Brett, relaxing, dancing in the kitchen, and running around outside.

5. When I was a child I wished my name was Natalie or Taylor. When we played “house” or “school”, I ALWAYS had to be one of those. Weird.

Fill in the Blank Friday

So, Lauren over at "The Little Things We Do" does these "Fill in the Blank Friday" posts every Friday and I thought it would be fun to start playing along, so here we go! :)

1. Winter is a season that gives me mixed feelings. I love it during Christmas time but come January, I'm perfectly content with going straight to Spring weather.

2. Summer is my favorite season! I love the farmer's markets, spending every second outside, running around barefoot, and soaking in the sun!

3. If it were summer instead of winter right now I'd go to the farmer's market and get pounds and pounds of fresh veggies, then bring them home so my husband could make a million bowls of his amazing fresh salsa. Then we'd go camping and rock climbing. :)

4. My favorite thing to do in winter is stay in and have dance parties in the kitchen and dinner dates at home with Brett.

5. My favorite thing to do in summer is BE OUTSIDE as much as possible!

6. The ideal outfit for a sunny summer day is a sundress, flipflops, and sunnies.

7. The ideal outfit for a frigid winter day is knit boot, jeggings, a long warm comfy sweater, scarf, gloves, and warm coat.
