{5 Things I Loved About This Weekend}

This weekend was full of friends, dancing, and... alcohol.  We went to the wedding of our good friends Adam & Kristen and had a blast.  And then Sunday was an extremely lazy day... (read: I was hungover).  All in all, such a fun weekend!

Here are 5 things I loved about it...

1.  Fat Head's for dinner Friday night & their festive decor

2.  Finally burning our lavender candle we got in California from Matanzas Creek Winery

3.  Hanging with our good friends Dan & BreAnne all weekend

4.  Celebrating the marriage of our other good friends Adam & Kristen

5.  Finally getting the pizza I was craving all weekend :)

{5 Things I Loved About This Weekend}

Thanksgiving Edition!

Here are 5 things I loved about the long Thanksgiving weekend...

1.  Getting to spend time with our little nephews while visiting Erie
(This is Andrew; Bradley wouldn't sit still long enough for me to take a picture of him!)

2.  Making waffles (especially with the added fruit topping Brett made), listening to Christmas music,
and watching the (first!) snow fall of the year

3.  The ugly Christmas sweater contest my family had on Thanksgiving
(which will have to be worn on Christmas)

4.  The fact that Thanksgiving is now over, meaning it is officially Christmas time
and it's time to bust out all the Christmas stuff (including my Christmas pajamas!)

5.  How baking cookies can make me feel much better

{5 Things I Loved About This Weekend}

The weather was awesome this weekend!!  It really doesn't feel like it's the middle of November.  I'm certainly not complaining.  We were sure to take advantage of this sunny weather all weekend long.  I was even able to go for a nice long run outside on Saturday.  Happiness!

Here are 5 things I loved about the weekend...

1.  The start of all the Christmas festivities
include the Christmas beer tastings at Sharp Edge

2.  Going on a bakery run Saturday morning

3.  Finally making our way over to the authentic Mexican grocery store & Mediterranean store
and scoring big time when they both had food stands outside of them

4.  The fact that Brett loves to cook so much & that he is so darn good at it:
homemade black bean soup... yum!

5.  Munching on fresh pitas and hummus while planning our Spain trip

{5 Things I Loved About This Weekend}

This weekend, we road tripped over to Ohio for some quality sisterly time with Brett's sister, Kelly.  She is a sophomore at Bowling Green and we had yet to make our way over there.  Bowling Green was a pretty cool campus - sooo FLAT.  I can't say the same for my college experience... hills galore.  It was so nice catching up with Kelly.  Something not so nice, though... $30 worth of toll roads there and back.  WTF Ohio and Pennsylvania turnpikes??  But anyway...

Here are 5 things I loved about the weekend...

1.  Discovering yet another cool BYOB in our neighborhood: Arpino Trattoria
(if you haven't notice, BYOBs are our favorite!)

2.  Getting to visit Kelly (Brett's sister) at her college Bowling Green

3.  The delicious BBQ chicken sandwich I ate from Happy Badger
(a cute little cafe Kelly took us to while touring Bowling Green)

4.  The perfectly gorgeous weather we had all weekend: upper 60s and sunny!

5.  The amaaazing salad Brett made for dinner Sunday night:
apples, green peppers, feta, raspberry vinaigrette dressing, & homemade croutons
(but mainly the "chopt!" show he put on while making this... ;)

{5 Things I Loved About This Weekend}

I loved everything about this weekend!  It was like one big long 3 day date with Brett and I wouldn't have it any other way.  We went out to new restaurants, tried new recipes at home, got outdoors, and even squeezed in some bowling.  The best.

Here are 5 things I loved about the weekend...

1.  Getting dessert (we usually never get dessert!) after dinner at Aladdin's Eatery:
Pumpkin cheesecake

2.  $1 pumpkins at the grocery store (so I got to carve a pumpkin this year after all!)
and handing out candy to all the kiddies trick or treating

3.  Indulging in delicious food and beer all weekend long
(most of which was homemade!)

4.  Squeezing in a little more "Fall" with a crisp hike at Mingo Creek before Winter really sets in
and driving by a DONKEY farm on the way home!

5.  Sunday night date night with dinner at Bean Curd and $1 bowling

{5 Things I Loved About This Weekend}

The rain is coming down here in Pittsburgh, due to Hurricane Sandy making her way through the Northeast... It's been raining all weekend actually, which made for some interesting festivities.  But we made the best of it!  On Saturday, we headed up to Edinboro University to visit my little sister Brita in her first year of college.  Even though we had to trudge our way around campus through the rain and cold, it was still nice to have the family all together again.  We also took advantage of our location and hit up some breweries along the way home.  Would you except anything less??  All in all, despite the rain, it was a good weekend.

Here are 5 things I loved about it...

1.  Finally eating the pizza I've been craving
ever since I listened to Josh & Chuck's "How Stuff Works" podcast on pizza,
and then going home to a relaxing campfire in the backyard

2.  Getting to see Brita for the first time since she left for college
at family day where she showed us around all of her art classes

3.  Discovering an AWESOME new-to-us brewery: Sprague Farm & Brew Works

4.  Getting to spend Saturday with my family
and taking Lee & Jess to one of our favorite breweries: North Country Brewing
2nd brewery stop of the day :)

5.  Having a relaxing, cozy Sunday morning reading & drinking coffee
while the gloomy weather rained down outside
