Joshua Tree!

We've been wanting to go to Joshua Tree ever since we moved to California, but it has always been too hot.  Well, we just had to make sure we visited before moving back to the east coast, so what better time than this past weekend!  It was pretty chilly and hella windy, but we had a lot of fun!

Wandering around...

Climbing around on all the rocks...
(Can you spot the tiny specs of Brett and Brandon in some of these pictures?!)

We did a steep 3 mile hike to the top of Ryan Mountain
as the rain loomed over us, but thankfully never came down!

(Brett planting his imaginary flag at the top of the mountain, ha!)

We got done with our hike right in time to catch a bit of the sunset from Keys View...

We ended up only staying for a small part of the sunset because it was so insanely windy.  We could barely stand still without getting knocked over.  Sand and dirt were flying in our eyes and that wind was cooooold.  But that's okay because it was pretty cloudy anyway.  We headed out of the park right as it was getting dark.  We had a great time at Joshua Tree.  Cross that off the bucket list!*

Scenes from the Weekend

Spent all day on Saturday wandering around Joshua Tree!

It was chilly, but awesome

Our friend Brandon came along with us

I'm really strong, guys

Finished up our hike right as the sun was setting

Stopped at the Joshua Tree gift ship for some cool stickers!

And found the magic school bus

And ended the night at the Joshua Tree Saloon before heading home

Look, In-n-Out is getting all festive for the holidays!

Checked out some new breweries on Sunday: Iron Fist and Barrel Harbor
(honestly, we weren't impressed with either of them)

So we went where we knew we could get some good beers: The Lost Abbey!

And ended the night at Stone Brewing Company!

Now that we are officially moving home to Pittsburgh in a few weeks, we are trying to squeeze in as many things as possible that we want to do here in California before we leave.  It is definitely bittersweet.  We are going to miss a lot of things about California, but we are also really excited to get home.  But with these few short weeks that we do have left here, we are making them count!  And also stocking up on all our favorite beers to take home with us to the east coast. ;)

Cheers!!*
We should probably start packing...
