San Francisco (and that time we biked across the Golden Gate Bridge!)

Some photos from the few days we spent in San Francisco over Labor Day weekend!

San Francisco is such a great city.  We had so much fun adventuring around for two days.  We rented bikes and rode them across the Golden Gate Bridge; wandered around Haight-Ashbury, browsing the music at Amoeba; relaxed in Union Square; ate delicious pastries in Little Italy; drank beers at 21st Amendment Brewery; and walked all over the place, even down to the docks by the Giants Stadium.  Every time we visit San Francisco, there is never enough time to do everything we want to do!  I guess we'll just have to keep coming back. ;)  San Francisco, we love ya!

Last Minute (but awesome) Change of Plans

Whoa!  Busy week (and no time for the good ol' blog).  We got back from our little mini trip up to Northern California late Monday night and I've been running non-stop since.  We didn't end up going to Yosemite, like we planned.  The crazy rim fire kind of ruined our plans for the Yosemite part of our trip and we couldn't get there.  So instead, we made last minute plans to hang in San Francisco for the days we were supposed to be in Yosemite.  And even though we were bummed we couldn't make it to Yosemite again (remember last year?), we had SO much fun exploring San Francisco (partly by bike!).

Photos coming soon!
Enjoy your weekend!*

San Francisco {California 2012 Recap}

Up, up, and away...

We touched down in California around midnight Friday, September 7th (that's around 3am east coast time!).  Needless to say, we were exhausted and headed straight to our hotel and face planted into the bed.  We had to be well rested for our Saturday morning frolicking around San Francisco!  Our itinerary for this trip had us only passing through San Francisco (since we spent a lot of time there on our honeymoon 2 years ago) on the way to our true first destination up in wine country.  But in our short time spent in San Francisco, we were going to make it worth it!

We kicked off vacation with a stroll through Golden Gate Park.  We roamed through the beautiful gardens, past the windmills that stood tall, and made our way down to the very edge of the west coast.  It was chilly and foggy and perfectly San Francisco.

Around noon, we hopped in our rental car (a sweet JEEP!) and continued our journey north towards wine country, where we'd be spending the afternoon and all of Sunday.  Of course, not without a stop at this beauty...

 Gets me every time.
San Francisco, you are pretty swell.

(Up next... wine country!)
