!! One Year Anniversary !!

Today...
August 7th
is our one year wedding anniversary!!!

I honestly cannot believe that Brett and I have already been married for one year.
This year has truly flown by.
I feel like our wedding was just a couple weeks ago.
It was one of the best days/weekends of my life.
I wish we could do it all over again and again...

I still get giddy when I call Brett my 'husband' and hear him call me his 'wife'.  I am so grateful to be able to call my best friend my husband and be able to spend everyday with him exploring, going on adventures, trying new things, and just laughing.  I've truly married my best friend and guys, it doesn't get much better than that.

I LOVE YOU, BABE!!
Here's to many, many, many more years
of this wonderful thing we call marriage.

It's AUGUST!

Hi Guys... did you know that it's AUGUST?

And did you know that LAST August I got married to my bestest friend?!  Yup, that's right!  This coming Sunday is Brett and my one year wedding anniversary!!  First of all, I am still completely baffled that it is August.  How is it the end of Summer already??  More importantly, I cannot believe Brett and I have already been married for almost a year!  I feel like just yesterday I was putting the finishing touches on my bridemaids' gifts, writing out place cards, and icing cupcakes for the wedding.  And now here we are, almost an old married couple!  Time flies when you get to spend everyday with your best friend by your side.  :)

This weekend we are going away for a mini anniversary road trip!  Just a little weekend getaway to enjoy each other's company doing what we love most: traveling and exploring new places!  I have a blog post scheduled for Sunday (our actual anniversary) with lots of wedding pictures to skim through.  Oh, working on that post made my heart happy.  We are planning on taking a bigger vacation getaway over Labor Day weekend to really celebrate our first year of marriage and I can't wait for that either!

Biking and the Batmobile

Yesterday evening, Brett and I went biking downtown with my parents.  They took us along some really cool paths and now I can't wait to go again!  My parents go biking almost every weekend, so they are basically pros maneuvering around the city now.  My Dad said last time they went biking downtown, someone stopped them to ask for directions and turns out it was Christian Bale!  The next Batman movie is currently being filmed in Pittsburgh, so Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, and other fancy shmancy movie stars are out and about roaming the city.  My little sister also said the last time she went biking, she was heading down an alley and the Batmobile was being rolled out of a garage!  See... Pittsburgh ain't so bad!

Lately... (Through the Eyes of My iPhone)

Ahh, I've got good vibes this morning.  No real particular reason, I'm just feeling content today.  Life is busy and crazy and exciting right now, so I'm taking a minute to breathe and appreciate today.  Sipping some hot green tea & looking through some photos on my phone.  Just documenting my every day life that I am so grateful for...

Row 1:
Summer evening back porch jam sessions
Grilling Summer dinners outside
Homemade granola that makes the house smell heavenly

Row 2:
Barefoot roadtrips to go rock climbing
Birthday dinners on the patio of Mad Mex with the sun shining in
The birthday boy!

Row 3:
Gorgeous West Virginia sunsets
Homemade burritos using only fresh veggies from the farmers market
My wish feathers hanging in my fit that I'm in love with

Row 4:
Big weekend breakfasts
Homemade sweet potato fries
The temperature INSIDE our house due to no A/C

Row 5:
Outdoor Summer music concerts in the city
Morning light and bird bells
My favorite Hilton Head mug with the best message: "Do what you like.  Like what you do."

Late night ice cream trips that make me oh so happy!

Rehoboth Beach Vacation 2011 Movie

Good morning!

How are we doing today?  I hope you guys had a nice weekend.  Mine was pretty low key: tried a new Italian restaurant, morning errands, pizza BYOBs, fireworks, house hunting, and yummy weekend breakfasts.  It was a much needed relaxing weekend.

So now that all of my planned beach trips are over (sad face), I thought I'd show you a little movie I put together of my family's vacation in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Enjoy!

I miss the beach and I miss being on vacation...  Isn't that always the case, though?  Sigh...  On another note, I have so much fun making these little movies! If only I could turn this into my full-time job.  Wishful thinking...  Well, on with the day!*

SUMMER.

I heart summer.
That is all.

Making sure I appreciate every little ounce of Summer while it lasts
because I know it will be gone all too soon.

Climbing and Camping at Coopers Rock

This past weekend, Brett and I headed down to Coopers Rock, WV for a fun-filled weekend of rock climbing and camping!  We are slowly becoming borderline obsessed with climbing.  It is such a fun outdoor activity.  And I especially love that Brett and I have something really active that we do together as a team.  Brett and I are really active people to begin with, but climbing is on a whole other level.  Basically, it's awesome and we're obsessed.

We left bright and early Saturday morning and stayed until Sunday afternoon, staying at the campground in the state park.  We also headed into town Saturday night for dinner at Black Bear Burrito and drinks at Morgantown Brewing Company.  Morgantown is a fun little town!

Onto some pictures...

So much fun.  We can't wait to get back down there.  Luckily, Coopers Rock is only about an hour south of our house, so I have a feeling we'll be back many, many more times this Summer!  Those burritos from Black Bear Burrito alone will lure me back... ;)

Oops on posting my weekend recap post half way through the week...  Life is busy, busy!  Tonight, we are going to see OAR play downtown.  We used to listen to them all the time in college, especially when the weather finally warmed up (a rare occasion in Johnstown...).  We are meeting some college friends there, so it should be a good time!  It's an outdoor concert and it's currently 95 degrees outside, so yeeeeeah....  HOWEVER!  I am NOT complaining because I would take 95 degree heat over 5 degree cold ANY day.

What are you guys up to?!

Quick Hello

Hi guys!  How are you?  Life has been busy, busy lately (in a good way!) and I haven't had time to blog the past couple days.  So I just wanted to pop in real quick and say hi!  And I hope to be back tomorrow with a full recap of our weekend spent outside climbing and camping!

Happy Birthday Babe!

Happy 27th birthday to my hubby, Brett!!

I'll spare you all the gushy, lovey dovey post
outlining why he's the best babe ever
and just tell you that my hubby is SWELL!

He's the apple of my eye
and I love him times a million.

Babe, you're the best and I love you.
And for the record, I consider 27 to still be "mid-20s"!
Can't wait to celebrate your birthday (for the 3rd time) tonight!
:)
