honeymoon!!

soo... it's the end of october.
and we went on our honeymoon in august.
and i am just now getting around to blogging about it...
better late than never, right?!

we went to california
and it was the best, most magical and fun trip ever*
i present to you,
our honeymoon via photos:

we were in california for 11 days, 10 nights.
we flew in and out of san francisco,
rented a car,
and went on a little roadtrip!
here is our adventures in a nutshell

1st stop:
sausalito
we stayed on a houseboat
and it was seriously awesome!
it was on the san francisco bay
and literally rocked back and forth.

2nd stop:
sonoma valley
we went wine tasting (and beer tasting).
we went to 2 wineries:
ravenswood winery
&
sterling winery
(amazing air ride up to the winery on the mountain!)
then, bounced to 2 breweries:
lagunitas brewery
&
russian river brewery
(super awesome band was playing)

3rd stop:
yosemite national park
we spent 2 days hiking,
seeing gigantic redwoods,
amazing waterfalls,
and incredible views.
pictures don't do this place justice!

4th stop:
pismo beach
got upgraded to the ocean front suite = amazing
learned how to surf!
saw a whale in the wild!
ate amazing italian

5th stop:
santa cruz
home of the craziest people i've ever seen.
stayed in a cute little cottage!
went ziplinging on top of the redwoods!
ate tasty mexican food,
and went to see SambaDa!
(really fun latin band)

6th stop:
san francisco
did lots of touristy things, so fun!
went to the top of the coit tower,
saw the golden gate bridge,
saw the painted ladies,
walked down lombard street,
went to some breweries,
met up with frank & amanda!

then after a fun-filled 11 days of pure romantic honeymoon bliss...
it was time to come home.

california is a beautiful, amazing place!
i know we will travel back there some day!

and that, my friends, is our honeymoon in a nutshell!

i LOVE this movie!

i have been in love with this movie ever since i was little.
a couple years ago, my mom bought me the dvd
and now i watch it every year around halloween!
it's brings back memories from when i was a kid
and i loove that.

i almost forgot about it this year.
but fear not!
you better believe i'm poppin that sucker in tonight
to watch after we go to the pumpkin patch!
shh, don't tell brett. ;)

today after work,
my husband and i are going to a
pumpkin patch!
i am soo excited!

i told brett if he went to a pumpkin patch with me
we could go get pizza and beer after...
he agreed ;)

i haven't carved a pumpkin in years.
hmm, any ideas of what i should turn my pumpkin into??

a love story

once upon a time

(yesterday, october 7th)
there was this girl
and she was really excited
because it was her & her husband's
2 month wedding anniversary
(we really like to celebrate the little things)

she was upstairs getting ready for their date
when her husband came home
and brought her these:

and she got even more excited...
(because little things really excite me)

and off they went on their little date...
first to dinner at bangkok balcony
for delicious pumpkin soup

and tasty chicken pineapple cashew thai

oh, and a bottle of wine
:)

then they ventured over to blue dust bar
for some tastey brews...
the selection was overwhelming

the girl opted for the southern tier pumking beer

(that came with cinnamon sugar on the rim!)

while the boy had various selections of
saison de buff by dogfish head, stone, and victory breweries

and it was the happiest perfect day for this girl
because she got to spend it with this boy...

today was a good day.

sipping on husband's pumpkin brew now,

while he makes potato mushroom soup.

yum.

i heart toms

this makes my heart happy.

i own 10 pairs of toms shoes
(and counting).
meaning i have put 10 pairs of shoes on
10 underprivileged children
who didn't owe any shoes before that.

this is what it's all about.
there need to be more companies like this in the world.

happy things, happy things

things that are currently making anna happy:
(yes, i just referred to myself in third person)

1.
finding out that united airlines is giving my husband and i
$150 EACH for our next flight with them...
all because the tvs weren't working on our flight on our honeymoon.
can you say...
HELLO FREE VACATION!

2.
planning said free vacation!
where will we go?
when will we go?
how excited are we!

3.
it's officially fall!
i loooove summer, but i'm super excited for fall.
the scarves, the boots, the pumpkin spice lattes,
the football games, the crisp weather, the pretty leaves,
the pumpkin patches, the apple cider, the pumkpin beer,
the list goes on and on...

4.
today is my friday!
at work, our office does a program where we work
extra hours throughout the week
and then get a day off every 2 weeks.
so tomorrow i have off!
it.is.sweet.

5.
planning other mini vacations/roadtrips!
my husband and i are OBSESSED with traveling.
we absolutely love going on trips together.
and we love all the planning for the trips.
maybe a little too much...
we are obsessed with researching things,
but are also obsessed with completely changing our minds.
and sometimes we end up researching something for hours,
and then decide to do something completely different...
and then the research begins for that.
it's a cycle...but we eventually end up with
a GREAT trip planned!

6.
my new san francisco background on my work computer.
(shown above)
it's a photo of the san francisco bay at sunrise
and it is gorgeous.
and it reminds me of our honeymoon
and it makes me feel all cozy and nostalgic.

7.
our coffee maker that has a self-timer.
this thing is awesome.
every night (when i'm not sleepy), i set it
and then at 6am on the dot (when i AM sleepy),
the coffee begins a brewin!
and i don't have to do anything
except pour it into my coffee travel mug.
love.

8.
dreaming about pumpkin patches.
i can't wait to go to a pumpkin patch
and pick out some sweet pumpkins.
and then bring them home and carve them
and put them on our steps outside our house!
because now that we actually live in a house,
we can do things like this!
AND...
we will get little trick or treaters!
happy happy joy joy!

9.
our back patio.
we have a big patio in our backyard of our new house
and we just got great patio furniture for it,
(thanks mom!)
hung twinkle lights, and set up our hammock.
we are obsessed with being outside,
so it is such a relief that we finally live somewhere
where we can sit outside and enjoy the outdoors.
it is seriously perfect.
and i think we've got plenty of time
to enjoy the patio before the cold weather rolls in.

my husband.
i have no explanation for this one.
he just simply makes me happy
every day.

how was everyone's week?

i'd say mine was pretty good!

still getting settled into the new house,

but everything is coming together nicely.

even though we are only renting,

it's still so cozy and homey...

it makes me so excited to actually own our own house

in the hopefully near future.

this weekend is a busy one

(are there any that aren't?)

brett and i are taking a mini roadtrip to wvu tonight

to see widespread panic in concert!

i'm pumped!

on that note,

then the weekend will officially begin!

my iphone pretty much comes everywhere with me.
and i take a lot of pictures with it.
so sometimes i like to look through my photo library
and see what it's been seeing lately.
so here's my life the past couple days

in our new house, we have a backyard (!!!)

and there is this family of deer that frequent it a lot.

we were sitting outside on our patio saturday morning

drinking coffee and chatting

and they decided to join us.

i love living outside of the city now!

there's something so calming and peaceful about the early morning

but i really like it!

we got this hammock from brett's aunt for my bridal shower
but haven't been able to put it up... until now!
living in an apartment in the city on the 2nd floor
wasn't very hammock friendly...
