30 Days of Lists - Part 2
Well, yesterday was the last day of the month long "30 Days of List" challenge! And I did it! I made it all the way through the challenge, completing every list. I had a lot of fun thinking up my answers each day and reading all the other lists in the flickr group. Here is the second portion of my lists:
Now I have this fun little journal of random lists that I can look back on someday and laugh at the way I thought at this time in my life. I love looking back on those kinds of things. Just like this blog: I literally get giddy thinking about reading it when I'm older or showing it to my future kids. When they think we are lame parents, I'm going to show them this blog and be like, "See! We were COOL!" But they'll probably still think we aren't... :)
Guys, it's Thursday! Do you know what that means? That means that tomorrow is Friday! Which leads to the WEEKEND! We can DO IT!

Through the Eyes of my iPhone...
I take a lot, and I mean A LOT, of photos with my iPhone. And some of them never make it to the blog. It's fun to go back through the random photos I've taken over the last few weeks every once in a while. It reminds me what I've been up to and shares a glimpse of my everyday life...
From left to right:
Row 1: Pretty sunset, favorite coffee cups
Row 2: Tie dye Toms, handsome husband serenade
Row 3: Mug I made my Dad for his birthday, another gorgeous sunset
Row 4: Cake I made my Sister-in-Law, Funky Toms
How is everyone's week going so far? I cannot take this cold weather anymore. We had this tiny run of really beautiful Spring weather and now it's back to 30 degree days. Whhhhy? I just have to keep telling myself "4 more weeks until Hilton Head, 4 more weeks until Hilton Head!" It's working... kinda. I am still miserable standing outside waiting for the bus in the morning. I need the sunshine and the warmth! Californians... send that nice weather my way!
In other news, Brett and I are going to a concert tonight: Toubab Krewe. We've seen them live before and they always put on a good show. I'm excited! Now I just have to get through the afternoon of work, then it's time for music, beers, and babe! ;)

Bouldering at Lost Crag
Okay, I know that it is already the next weekend... but I just had to document the previous weekend! Last Saturday, Brett and I went hiking and bouldering (rock climbing) at Lost Crag near Ohiopyle. It was our first time climbing outside. We've been climbing inside all winter at a climbing gym and couldn't wait to try it outside. When we found out the weather was going to be in the upper 50s, we couldn't pass this opportunity up! It was so.much.fun. I can't believe how much I love this activity. The hike was beautiful, even though everything was still pretty bare from Winter. When we reached the rocks, we were the only ones there. It was so awesome to be back outside again, after being stuck inside all Winter long. It was such a great day. I can't even put into words how much love I have for the outdoors...
And of course, ice cream is a very important part of the day! I can't wait to get back out there again. The temperatures are back down into the 30s right now... ugh. But I'm really hoping we can get back outside again anyways. Love it!
Do you guys love being outside? Do you hike or camp or do any kind of outdoor activities? I am just always so amazed by nature and the outdoors.
Hope you're having a great weekend!!

Fill in the Blank Friday
1. My most prized possession is my photos. Pretty much all the photos I have ever taken… I don’t know what I would do if I ever lost them. I try to backup my computer as much as possible, so I always have my photos in multiple places. You can never replace those memories.
2. If I could be one age for the rest of my life, I would want to be definitely somewhere in my 20’s. So much great stuff has happened to me in my 20’s. I like this place in my life… not too old, not too young; making a life for myself, but still having so much fun. But then again, I think I’ll always be having this much fun no matter how old I get…
3. The best way to spend a weekend is going on a mini road trip somewhere fun with the people you love!
4. My outlook on life is based around the idea that you can choose what you want your life to be. You can choose each day whether you are going to be positive or negative. I choose to be positive everyday. While it’s difficult sometimes, you always have to remember that “Nothing is worth more than this day.” You can’t predict the future, so you better enjoy each moment!
5. If you want to annoy me, just cut me off while you’re on your cell phone… seriously!
6. I am completely defenseless when it comes to PIZZA!! Or being asked to go on a road trip… I will always say yes!
7. When dressing for the day one should wear whatever the hell you want. Who cares about trends. Just wear what makes you happy and confident!
Play along here!

'This Little Port' Guest Post
I am guest posting over at "This Little Port" today while Gaby is away on an exciting camping and rock climbing trip with her husband! While she's away taking in the great Australian outdoors, I'm talking all about one of my favorite parts of my honeymoon. Hope you enjoy!
I hope your week is going wonderfully! I had such a great time this past weekend, I'm trying to find some time to sit down and blog about it! Weekend post coming soon (even if it means I post it a day before next weekend...).
Happy Wednesday!*

1st Day of Spring!
Happy 1st Day of Spring!!
I'm dreaming of pretty flowers, sunshine, and warm weather... and I'm hoping now that it is officially Spring, the weather will get it's act together & give me these sweet things! Maybe if I'm really lucky, the weather will act like it did on our honeymoon in California... sigh. We stayed on a houseboat in Sausalito for the first few nights of our honeymoon and it was pure bliss. The "floating garden" was so pretty and peaceful, I could have sat out there all day, everyday and been completely content. It was perfect.

Look What My Mom Just Sent Me...
(me dressed as a bride when I was little) (me on my actual wedding day)
I woke up to these 2 pictures in my email a couple days ago.
My mom was going through old photos and found this.
This puts the biggest smile on my face!
I think I look exactly the same...
(minus the interesting child haircut... thanks mom!).
And crap, maybe I should have taken my own fashion advice
and wore a blue and pink striped sweater under my wedding dress!
That was a good look... ;)

30 Days of Lists: Halfway Mark
So I am now halfway through the 30 Days of Lists challenge! I posted a couple of weeks ago about it and have to say, I am really enjoying this. It's fun to read the prompts and then go searching in my head to come up with a list... it gets those brain wheels turning! ;) I also love seeing all the other lists on the flickr group! Here are my first 15 lists:
I want to see YOUR lists!
Let me know if you are participating in this challenge too!
Hope your week is off to a great start! Spring is just around the corner (I hope!)...

Happy Birthday Brita!
Happy Birthday Brita!!
Happy birthday to my sweet little sister who turns 17 (?!!?!) today!
When did that happen?!
I can still remember the day she was born.
I can't believe she will be a senior in high school next year. Wow.
She is the most creative and talented artist I know.
I am blown away by what she is able to create.
Please pop over to her blog and check out her drawings.
They are seriously amazing.
We are working on getting an Etsy shop set up for her,
so she can start selling her artwork.
I'll be sure to let you know when it's up and running!
Happy Birthday Brit!
I love you!! :)

Fill in the Blank Friday
Hooray, it's FRIDAY!
And I have today off work!!
I work at a college and the students are on spring break this week,
so they give staff "spring break" just on Friday.
Better than nothing!
Here we go...
1. My biggest accomplishment in life thus far is… definitely running & finishing a marathon last May (in the pouring rain…).
2. My favorite place to sit in my house is… our dining room/living room. We have an open floor plan, so our living room & dining room are kind of one. I like to sit at the dining room table, working on my laptop… or nestled up on the couch with Brett.
3. My fashion philosophy is… I have zero fashion sense. I never know what “trends” are in or what everyone else is wearing. I just wear what I like and what’s comfy. I have a lot of solid color clothing that I like to wear loud accessories with. Does that count? Ha!
4. Something every girl should have is… a group of people (family, friends, husband, boyfriend) who truly believe in her and love her exactly the way she is; people that support her and are always on her side. It seems that girls tend to need that extra reassurance.
5. If you looked in my purse right now you'd find… way too much stuff! Daily planner, mini notebook, wallet, iPhone, coffee cozy, lip gloss, gum, camera, chargers for my camera and iPhone, checkbooks, gloves, pens, birth control… haha.
6. My favorite music right now is… The Bridge. So fun! Check them out!
7. My favorite part of my body is… my calves? Haha, they are just very defined and I like them.
Play along here, of course!

Always Take the Scenic Route
Today it is rainy, cold, and cloudy outside.
It's been this way all week.
So I think I'll sit here and dream about...
the beach
and
the boardwalk
and
the warm sun
and
the clear sky
and
the peaceful weather.
And hopefully that will be enough to get me through these last bits of Winter...
Spring and Summer, I am so ready for you.

Happy Birthday Dad!
Happy Birthday Dad!!
Happy birthday to the most selfless, caring, hardworking Dad!
I couldn't imagine my life without him.
Whenever I need advice, he know exactly what to say.
And I must thank him for my good taste in music. ;)
Love you, Dad!!

Things I Learned This Weekend
A few things I learned this weekend:
1. Sometimes it's best NOT to experience a dive bar that you've never been to. If you do, you will end up being surrounded by older people drinking sutter home wine and listening to an awful bar band... (think 50 year old men singing Lady Gaga's "Just Dance").
2. Don't try to paint your nails after drinking 2 cups of coffee. You will absolutely not have steady hands.
3. Always take your husband grocery shopping at a store that sells good beer, offers free beer samplings, and has a cafe with delicious lunches. (Market District is amazing).
4. Put a man behind a grill and that is a happy man, especially if he has been waiting to use it since Christmas.
5. Grilled portobello burgers are waaaaay better than grilled eggplant burgers.
6. Just because it was 60 degrees out on Saturday, doesn't mean that it won't snow all day the next day...
Did you learn anything interesting over the weekend? I'd love to hear! Anything to make this Monday morning keep rolling on... Here's to a short week! (I have Friday off, woo!)

Fill in the Blank Friday
I love 'Fill in the Blank Fridays' because it means that the weekend is near!
1. The phrase or punctuation I overuse most is exclamation points… if you haven’t noticed!!!!! I guess I am just really excited about life!
2. Today I am thankful for Caribou Coffee & their adorable cups.
3. My best friend is my husband Brett, which is ideal because we get to hang out all the time!
4. A quirky thing about me is I do not like having the top sheet tucked in at the end of the bed. My feet feel like they are suffocating! Brett makes fun of me soo bad for this.
5. This weekend I have no set plans and it is marvelous!! It’s supposed to get to 60 degrees on Saturday (!!) but it’s also supposed to rain… so I’m hoping it clears up for a bit so we can get outside!
6. Something that worries me is the house buying process. I just want to find the perfect place to call home & not have to stress out too much about it!
7. On my night stand you would find an alarm clock (that we never use because we both use the alarms on our iPhones) and a piece of art that my little sister made us for our wedding. Also, usually Brett’s glasses and iPhone are on there too. (We only have a night stand on one side of our bed).
Come play along!
Have a great FRIDAY!!

You Learn Something New Everyday!
You know how some daily planners have a bunch of pages at the beginning with random information, like: grammar, commonly misspelled words, a map of the United States, etc? Well! Today, I discovered that my planner has a sign language page! It shows the hand pose for each letter of the alphabet and numbers 0 - 9. So naturally, I taught myself my name:
I am such a nerd...
And I don't think my "N"s are completely correct.
I am blonde.
And I don't think my "N"s are completely correct.

Happy Almost Friday!

30 Days of Lists
Have you heard about the new project that just started up called 30 Days of Lists? It's awesome! I first heard about it while reading CaL's blog Boardwalk to Eden. She was talking about how she was planning on participating and it sounded fun, so I decided to do it too!
"30 Days of Lists starts March 1 at 30 Days of Lists. Each day on that challenge-specific blog you’ll find a prompt for that day’s list topic.
Just a list. Nothing more.
Not everyone can make a mini scrapbook every week or an art journal page every night. Give yourself a break from the pressure of art journaling or 800-word-meaningful blog posts.
While those kinds of challenges are admirable and ambitious, we had something a little more ... manageable in mind.
30 Days of Lists is our encouragement and challenge to you that you CAN journal just something every day - even something as small as a list.
Every day throughout the month of March we will be posting a list prompt - anything from weekend goals to celebrity crushes. At the end of the 30 days you'll have a collection of entries creating a small snapshot of your life right now.
Only 5-10 minutes per day are really needed. While you're waiting for someone, or when you're the passenger in the car. Download one of our kits so you have the topics ahead of time and just write.
That's all.
Just write."
I think it will be fun to participate in this challenge, since I am somewhat of an obnoxious list maker... Here are my first two days of the project:
List 1:
List 2:
I will periodically post my lists here, but you can see all my lists on my flickr page and on the 30 Days of Lists' flickr page. Let me know if you plan on participating so I can check out your lists! :)
Happy Wednesday!
